Yes, the way to clear downloads is either by resetting the device and start over, or you can just log out and log back in. Please remember, when you logout, you will need a connection to log back in.
To reset the device, swipe down from the top of the screen and hit the gear icon. In the menu, select "Reset" and follow the instructions.
